Purpose
Established in 1986, City in the Community is Manchester City's official charity. We support people across Manchester by empowering healthier lives through football. Our programmes place physical and mental wellbeing at their core, whilst also creating healthy futures and healthy communities.
The purpose of this role is to provide safe, reliable transportation for CITC staff and participants attending BTEC league fixtures. The role involves driving a 16-seat minibus to away matches as part of a scheduled matchday programme, ensuring teams arrive safely and on time.
Assignments are typically offered on Wednesdays during term time, from October to May.
Accountabilities
* Provide safe and timely transport for CITC staff and participants, following planned matchday routes to ensure smooth attendance at away fixtures.
* Proactively plan efficient routes in advance of each journey, considering traffic, weather, and other conditions to allow adequate preparation time for matches.
* Maintain effective communication with CITC staff regarding delays, route changes, or concerns that may impact the day's schedule.
* Conduct vehicle safety and roadworthiness checks before and after travel, adhering to all safety protocols to prioritise passenger wellbeing
* Accurately log all journeys, including mileage and passenger counts, to support internal records and compliance requirements.
* Uphold CITC's Safeguarding policy to the highest standard, ensuring the safety and welfare of all passengers at all times.
* Adhere to all CITC and CFG policies and procedures, escalating any concerns or breaches where necessary.
Essential
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Valid UK Driver's Licence with D1 (PCV) entitlement
* Proven experience demonstrating safe and responsible driving practice
* Good knowledge of traffic laws, road safety, and transport regulations
* Strong sense of responsibility and professionalism, acting as a positive role model
* Strong attention to detail and focus under pressure
* Excellent time management skills
* Good interpersonal and customer service skills
* Resilient and adaptable to change
Desirable
* Previous minibus driving experience or minibus qualification
* Clear and effective verbal communication skills
* Good physical fitness
