Involve Recruitment are in search of a STEM graduate to work for an Environmental Management Services company based in Bridgend in the role of Trainee Environmental Consultant.

The ideal candidate will be maturing, hard working and degree qualified in STEM with a preference for Chemistry, Physics or Biology postgraduates.
Experience
* Report writing including presenting complex technical information in a concise and accurate manner.
* Experience in field work including data collection and water/soil sampling.
* Understanding of the risk-based approach to the assessment of land contamination.
Key Responsibilities
* Keen interest in environmental issues, pollution management, land contamination, environmental impact assessment & environmental management systems.
* Field work including environmental sampling and monitoring.
* Undertaking site audits, surveys, inspections, and data collection exercises on liquid pollution management related control devices / systems.
* Attend emergency spill response situations to conduct clean-up operations.
* Keeping up to date with relevant environmental guidance and legislation.
* Preparation of technical reports including data review, analysis, and interpretation.
* Share, discuss, and explain findings with multi-disciplinary colleagues, clients, subcontractors, and regulators.
* Ensuring that all work is delivered in line with our procedures and to the highest quality in terms of health, safety and environmental standards.
On-Call/Working away
While it is expected that most of the works undertaken will not necessitate “working away”, from time to time the nature of our business dictates that you will be required to work away from our base.
In addition, the company’s core business is Emergency Response, and you will be required to make yourself available for “callouts” at weekends and bank holidays within a rota system.
We will endeavour to establish fair systems for the provision of these services considering personal circumstances. We also implement pay incentives for those who work away or cover on-call.
