We are working with an established and growing organisation operating within the environmental and infrastructure sector is seeking a Senior Management Accountant to join its finance team. This is a broad and commercially focused role, offering ownership of multiple entities while working closely with operational stakeholders across the business.
Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in delivering accurate management information, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and driving continuous improvement across finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Take ownership of the monthly management accounts process for a portfolio of entities.
* Maintain and review trial balances, ensuring financial accuracy and integrity.
* Prepare and post journals, accruals, prepayments and other month-end adjustments.
* Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
* Produce balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
* Deliver monthly, half-year and year-end financial reporting.
* Analyse financial performance and provide insightful commentary on variances against budget and forecast.
* Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections.
* Partner with operational and regional management teams to provide financial insight and support decision-making.
* Maintain fixed asset registers and monitor capital expenditure.
* Support external audit processes and year-end statutory requirements.
* Identify opportunities to improve financial performance, controls and reporting processes.
* Provide leadership, coaching and development support to a Management Accountant.
About You
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or possess equivalent experience, with a strong grounding in management accounting and financial reporting.

* Proven experience producing management accounts within a fast-paced environment.
* Strong understanding of month-end processes, reconciliations and financial controls.
* Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
* Ability to analyse financial data and translate findings into meaningful business insight.
* Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge and influence.
* Advanced Excel skills and strong systems aptitude.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Experience managing or mentoring junior finance team members would be advantageous.
