Speech and Language Therapist Band 5
We are seeking a full-time, Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join the Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapy team within Croydon Health Services NHS Trust on a fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity resulting from recent team changes.
The position is based in the acute service at Croydon University Hospital, covering medical, elderly care, and surgical wards, including Intensive Care. Training and support will be provided to develop full dysphagia competencies. The service includes FEES and VF assessments.
The role involves managing an appropriate caseload across the acute environment, assessing, diagnosing, treating, and discharging clients with communication and swallowing difficulties.
You will work as part of a team to provide an efficient, effective, and coordinated Speech and Language Therapy service.

Speech and Language Therapist Band 5

Main duties of the job
1. Provide high-quality speech and language therapy to adults in hospital.
2. Manage and prioritize a caseload independently.
3. Assess and diagnose communication and swallowing disorders, making appropriate clinical decisions.
4. Reflect on communication aspects and identify strategies to enhance effectiveness.
5. Communicate complex information to clients, carers, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
6. Maintain accurate and high-standard clinical documentation.

Qualifications/Education/Training
* Recognized Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification
* HCPC registered or in application
