Your new role
Asmunications Officer, you will take the lead in delivering and coordinating a wide range ofmunications and public relations activities. This is a varied and hands-on role where you will contribute directly to shaping how the organisationmunicates with its stakeholders.Your responsibilities will include:
1. Developing and deliveringmunications strategies and action plans
2. Managing digital channels, including website and social media platforms
3. Creating engaging content such as press releases, newsletters, and publications
4. Acting as a key point of contact for media enquiries and building media relationships
5. Supporting internal and externalmunications campaigns
6. Monitoring and evaluatingmunication performance and engagement metrics
7. Coordinating events, webinars, and promotional activities
8. Providingmunications advice and guidance to senior stakeholders
You will play a vital role in ensuring consistent messaging, enhancing engagement, and strengthening the organisation’s public profile.
What you'll need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you will bring a strong background inmunications and public relations, alongside excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.Essential criteria include:
9. A relevant qualification inmunications, PR, or a related field and knowledge of the Northern Ireland education landscape would be advantageous.
10. 3 years’ demonstrable experience in a role with primary responsibility formunications and public relations.
11. 3 years’ demonstrable experience of developing and managing the delivery, and subsequent evaluation, ofmunications and public relations within an organisation.
12. 3 years’ demonstrable experience developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating the oues of amunications and public relations strategy and action plan and developing responses to metrics and feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
13. 1 year’s relevant administrative experience with well-developed IT skills.
14. 1 year’s demonstrable experience engaging with stakeholders including dealing with customers face to face, by telephone and via email.
15. Demonstrable experience and skills in building positive working relationships as a team member and supporting change management; with the proven ability tomunicate effectively and empathetically with colleagues at all levels and in all business areas of an organisation.
16. Strong working knowledge of IT systems and of programmes/software for creating/editing corporate documents/publications, website pages/documents and social media content (for example, MS Office packages, social media platforms, Photoshop and graphic design packages).
