We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance Administrator to join our team. This pivotal role will manage the full cycle of "battels" accounts—covering accommodation, meals, subscriptions, and other member charges—while acting as the first point of contact for related queries.
The position is set to commence ASAP and will be full-time for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of £16.57 per hour + holiday pay.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the full "battels" cycle (charges, reconciliations, member queries).
* Process grants, scholarships, bursaries, and allowances.
* Administer accommodation, meals, subscriptions, and event charges.
* Handle sales invoicing, credit notes, and third-party billing.
* Carry out credit control for battels, sales invoices, and tuition fees.
* Post and reconcile daily bank transactions.
* Support tuition fee billing and act as first contact for fee queries.
* Administer US student loans and track instalments.
* Complete month-end checks, reports, and debtor records.
Selection Criteria:
* Experience of working in a finance or accounts administration role, including accurate processing of invoices, reconciliations, and handling of payments.
* Proven ability to deliver effective credit control and debt recovery, communicating sensitively with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
* Proficiency in using accounting or finance software, along with standard office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
* Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial audiences, adapting communication where there may be a language barrier or varied levels of English proficiency.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet tight deadlines.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a small team, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Able to manage changing priorities with appropriate support and guidance, and to undertake reasonable tasks as requested by the line manager, commensurate with the role
