Salary: £27,684 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Location: Pontefract
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (40 hours per week)

The Opportunity
The Purchasing Administrator will provide vital administrative and logistical support to the procurement and production teams. You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate purchasing records, managing supplier communications, and ensuring materials are available to meet production schedules.
Key Responsibilities

Raise purchase orders and maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records.

Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials or consumables in line with demand and lead times.

Prepare and update reports on stock usage, purchasing trends, and material costs.
*
Record deliveries, check documentation, and ensure system accuracy for traceability.
*
Maintain up-to-date data on product codes, pricing, and supplier details in internal systems.
*
Liaise with suppliers to confirm order details, resolve queries, and track deliveries.
*
Support the wider operations team with stock counts and audits.
*
Identify and report any discrepancies or issues affecting stock accuracy or supply continuity.

Provide general administrative support to the procurement and warehouse functions.
About You
*
Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
*
Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and time-management abilities.
*
Clear and confident communicator with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
*
Previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment is highly desirable.
*
Experience using ERP systems advantageous.

Comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, and reports
