Job Title: Finance Officer
Type: Fixed Term (14 months)
Location: Pontypool
Salary: £37,575 - £39,554
Hours: 37 hours a week
BRC are working closely with a social housing association based in South-Wales. This role involves ensuring continuity of key finance functions across the business and its subsidiary during a leave period, by maintaining compliance, delivering accurate reporting, and supporting strategic decisions through robust analysis and forecasting.
Duties:
Subsidiary Company Support:
Lead the annual budget process, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and insightful commentary.
Update financial forecasts and provide analysis on projected outturns.
Prepare year-end financial statements in accordance with relevant standards.
Maintain accurate books and records, including reconciliations.
Update and manage project cashflows, accounting and reporting.
Preparation and presentation of reports for the Board.
Provide financial advice and forecasting support to the subsidiary’s management team.
Taxation and Regulation:
Preparation and submission of VAT and CIS returns.
Coordination with external advisors for the preparation of year-end corporation tax computations.
Month-End Processes:
Input into the month-end management accounts, including:
Intercompany journals and invoicing
Consolidation journals
Other required month-end adjustments
Additional Duties:
Review, approve bank payments and prepare supplier payment runs
Perform month-end reconciliations.
Undertake any other finance-related tasks as reasonably required.
Requirements:
Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or Qualified by Experience
Knowledge of Corporation Tax, VAT, Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) tax
Financial Reporting & Analysis: Ability to produce accurate, timely financial reports and interpret data to support decision-making
Communication: Clear and concise communication of financial information to non-financial stakeholders
Positive and proactive approach to delivering high-quality service to our internal and external customers
A flexible team player who adapts to meet business and customer needs
Must be able to prioritise and organise own time and workload effectively
Ability to speak and write in Welsh
