Job Purpose / Overview
The JDO Quality Technical Assistant will be a member of the JDO Quality Team in the Joint Design Office (JDO). This role will support the JDO Quality Manager in delivering various Quality arrangements, support wider issue identification, resolution and improvement planning, and deliver workshops.
Principal Accountabilities
* Responsible for day‑to‑day arrangement interface management with other processes.
* Resolve minor queries raised by internal JDO teams and support wider JDO Quality team with management of external queries when required.
* Support JDO Quality Engineer in the development and rollout of arrangements.
* Support JDO Quality Manager in any interface‑related investigations.
* Support JDO Quality Manager in assurance‑related activities.
* Support JDO Quality Engineer in quality‑control related activities.
* Assist wider JDO in understanding external standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and project requirements (e.g., GQAS).
* Develop and monitor various continual improvement activities in the JDO.
* Engage in investigations and observation/incident management activities.
* Organise and support quality‑related meetings/workshops and produce minutes.
* Support JDO Quality Manager in wider required activities to deliver team objectives.
Knowledge & Skills
Essential
* Working knowledge of the ISO 9001:2015 standard’s requirements.
* Knowledge of how Quality/Integrated Management Systems work.
* Fluent in spoken and written English at Business Level.
* Strong IT skills, especially with the Microsoft Office suite.
Desirable
* Certified ISO 9001 Internal Auditor.
* Knowledge of General Quality Assurance Specification (GQAS) & Quality Related Activities (QRA).
* Knowledge of Nuclear Site Licence Condition requirements.
* Knowledge or experience in a related engineering, construction, or regulated delivery environment.
* Knowledge of PLMs.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
* Relevant degree qualification or demonstrable relevant experience.
* Experience working in a nuclear, engineering or design office environment.
* Experience with development and implementation of Quality/Integrated Management Systems.
* Experience in complex multi‑organisational stakeholder management.
Desirable
* Qualified internal auditor and experience performing quality audits.
* Experience training others in Quality Management principles.
* Experience performing root‑cause analysis.
* Experience in trend analysis.
