Mechanical Project Manager
Location: James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, TS4 3BW
Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: £38,000.00 - £42,000.00 depending on experience, plus Serco benefits.
The Mechanical Project Manager will be responsible for managing and delivering allocated Trust-initiated Mechanical Lifecycle Works projects. This includes participating in planning, design, and delivery of SPV Lifecycle Projects, interfacing with the Serco Estates and Facilities team. The Mechanical Project Manager will support the Lifecycle Manager in ensuring the effective operation of the entire Lifecycle works process.
Main Accountabilities:
1. Manage Serco/SPV initiated Mechanical Lifecycle works, including coordination, scheduling, and financial control, ensuring adherence to timescales and budgets.
2. Prepare tender documentation and evaluate tender submissions for Mechanical Lifecycle Works.
3. Provide reports on asset condition and necessary work to maintain hospital estate standards.
4. Participate in biannual environmental and estate condition audits to assess asset conditions and future maintenance needs.
5. Minimize disruption to clinical services and manage project-specific risks related to unavailability and service performance.
6. Assist in delivering Mechanical reactive Lifecycle works as part of the Annual Lifecycle programme.
7. Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance Manuals and Health and Safety Policies, including CDM Regulations.
8. Coordinate with the SPV, Trust, and Estates Management team.
9. Manage external design consultants and architects involved in lifecycle schemes.
10. Perform duties as an Authorised/Responsible Person for up to three Mechanical disciplines.
11. Contribute to the preparation of the Annual Programme, identifying plant/services needs.
12. Act as Deputy for the Lifecycle Manager when required.
Requirements:
* Knowledge of PFI contracts, preferably in a hospital setting.
* Proven experience in operational and project delivery within facilities management, including tender processes.
* Ability to interpret operational and capital scheme issues and suggest solutions.
* Extensive Hard FM sector experience.
* Strong financial, analytical, and reporting skills.
* Effective communication and relationship management skills, with high diplomacy.
