We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and reliable Counter Sales Team Leader to join a fast-paced trade counter environment within the tools and fixings sector.
This is a hands-on leadership role, combining customer service, team supervision, and technical product support. Youll oversee a small team of two while ensuring the siteremains clean, well-stocked, and running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve and assist customers at the trade counter
Supervise and support 2x counter sales staff
Answer telephone calls and handle sales enquiries
Provide quotations and follow up with customers
Advise on the correct and safe use of tools and fixings
Conduct stock checks and maintain accurate inventory
Keep the counter and shop areas tidy and organised
Operate a computerised booking-in/out system
Make proactive sales calls to existing and potential customers
Skills & Experience Required:
Experience in a similar trade counter or retail tools environment
Confident using and advising on power tools and fixings
Mechanical aptitude or basic engineering knowledge is beneficial
Team leadership experience or the ability to step into a leadership role
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Physically fit heavy lifting involved
Computer literate with stock and sales system knowledge
Dependable, punctual, and well-organised

Hours of work are 0730-1700 Monday to Friday with alternate Saturday mornings.
