As the Commercial Director you will successfully deliver on the Operating Units financial, commercial, safety, environmental, quality and ethical targets, as part of the Operating Unit Leadership Team. To lead the commercial function of the operating unit, contributing to the operating unit strategy, people development and work winning. To create a safe and stable environment to deliver Injury Free contracts. To lead and facilitate profitability, contract compliance, and effective forecasting and reporting. To create an environment where people learn and grow, are highly engaged and deliver a great service to our clients. To develop Client relationships, both internal and external, for the benefit of the business and to support the successful commercial delivery of projects.
What you’ll do:
1. Be fully accountable for the organisational design of the commercial, risk, controls & procurement functions in the infrastructure unit.
2. Lead the delivery of profit expectation in a culture of outperform, with full profit and loss accountability for all the projects.
3. Accountable for compliance with the claims management process, ensuring all claims are reported in a timely manor with a focus on mitigating risk or maximising opportunity from these claims.
4. Jointly lead with Pre Construction the commercial strategy for the infrastructure unit, ensuring the reported margins and most likely margins support the outcome of the strategy.
5. Specific focus on ensuring an outperform mindset.
6. Advise on all commercial aspects of the interface between the company and its’ clients, working closely with the Divisional Directors and EVP / CCO.
7. Liaise closely with operational and financial management to ensure transparency of reporting of the cost and value bases, jointly responsible for the OU quarterly financial reporting processes.
8. Ensure robust pipeline of talent to ensure succession to commercial director and CCO level.
9. Lead development of a tangible market pipeline in the sector, leading to successful bid opportunities and profitable contracts in delivery, working alongside the Preconstruction Director and Divisional Directors

11. Excellent working knowledge of contract conditions and contract law and their administration
12. Excellent communicator and people leader.
13. Self-motivated and confident leader.
14. Excellent customer relationship skills and stakeholder management
15. Experience of winning projects in a tier 1 corporate governance structure
16. Demonstrable skills and experience in all aspects of financial, commercial and project management, and financial/business acumen.
17. Experience of Commercial Lead roles on large scale projects or within business environments
18. Negotiated successful contracts with customers to the business expected outcomes
19. Demonstrable people leadership and creating high performing teams and robust succession plans
