**Position Overview**
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate **Specialist Medical Writer** to develop authoritative, evidence-based, and accessible health content. This critical role involves translating complex medical and scientific information into clear, actionable articles and educational materials for our community members, healthcare workers, and internal stakeholders.
Your work will directly empower individuals with knowledge about preventive health, nutrition, local disease management, and wellness practices relevant to our region.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Research, write, and edit a wide range of evidence-based medical and public health articles.
* Key topics include: **preventive medicine, nutrition, maternal/child health, local endemic diseases (e.g., malaria), and sanitation.**
* Adapt complex medical terminology into clear, concise, and engaging content for a non-medical audience.
* Collaborate with local healthcare professionals and public health experts to ensure all content is accurate, culturally appropriate, and impactful.
* Develop supporting educational materials, including pamphlets, guides, and digital content for community health programs.
* Ensure all content aligns with Angolan Ministry of Health and WHO guidelines.
* Manage a content calendar and ensure the timely publication of high-quality materials.
**Qualifications & Experience:**
* **Essential:**
* An advanced degree in Medicine, Public Health, Nursing, Pharmacology, or a related life science field.
* Proven professional experience in medical writing, health communications, or creating patient education materials.
* Exceptional research, analytical, and fact-checking skills with an unwavering commitment to scientific accuracy.
* Cultural sensitivity and a deep understanding of the public health landscape in Angola or Sub-Saharan Africa.
* Ability to write in a clear, empathetic, and engaging tone.
* **Highly Desirable:**
* Professional fluency in **Portuguese**.
* Experience working on public health campaigns within the region.
* Knowledge of topics linking agriculture, nutrition, and community health.
* Familiarity with local languages (e.g., Umbundu) is a strong advantage.
