REPORTS TO (JOB TITLE):

Group AP/AR Finance Manager

BASE LOCATION(S):

Preston

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Accounts Assistant will cover Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Banking.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Finance Assistant will report to the Group Finance Manager and will work closely with the Finance Assistants and the wider Accounts Team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* All aspects of sales and purchase ledger.
* Credit Control.
* Banking.
* Liaising with our sales team regarding overdue debtors and outstanding queries.
* Production and distribution of sales invoices.
* Posting daily cash.
* Weekly bank reconciliations.
* Processing employee expense claims and processing credit cards.
* Matching and coding of purchase invoices.
* Payment runs.
* Monthly supplier statement reconciliation.
* Ensure that all activity meets the Group's policies and controls.
* Cover sickness and leave for the team on an ad hoc basis when required.
* General accounts administration and office duties.

JOB DIMENSIONS / SCOPE

* Group Accounts support role.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

* Experience in sales and purchase ledger.
* AAT Level 2 qualification is desirable but not essential.
* Good general IT skills.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.

RELATING TO PEOPLE INTERNALLY

* Working closely with the wider Accounts team.
* Liaising with businesses within the Group.
* Reporting to the Divisional Finance Directors.

RELATING TO PEOPLE EXTERNALLY

* Liaising with customers, clients and suppliers across the group.

KEY COMPETENCIES / CAPABILITIES

* An organised and accurate approach.
* The ability to work to deadlines in a busy office environment.
* Enthusiastic and open minded to new procedures and systems.
* Ability to work as part of a team, as well as individually using initiative.

Working Hours:

37.5 hours per week, worked between the hours of 8:30am to 4:30pm with an unpaid lunch break of 30 minutes.
