We are recruiting a Mechanical Engineer / Technician from an HGV, plant, forklift, bus or construction background to join an aviation ground equipment maintenance team. You do not need previous GSE experience – full training will be provided.
This is a hands-on role working on specialist airport equipment that directly supports aircraft operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Service, inspect and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical systems (12/24V)
* Diagnose faults using schematics and technical manuals
* Attend breakdowns on airport sites and complete service documentation
* Work safely to procedures and aviation standards
Ideal Background
* Experience in HGV, plant, forklifts, buses, construction equipment or similar
* Strong mechanical & hydraulic knowledge with basic auto-electrics
* Comfortable reading drawings and fault-finding
* Class 1 HGV Licence and full UK driving licence
* Based within commuting distance of Gatwick
