Mechanical Technician
Location: Livingston (Central Scotland), Carlisle / Penrith, South Sheffield.
Salary: £32 (Apply online only) – £36 (Apply online only). Vehicle and fuel provided. Travel paid (door to door).
Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.
The Role
We are supporting a leading environmental services provider who are expanding their field teams ahead of a major contract mobilisation. The role involves routine maintenance and operational support across a network of treatment and monitoring sites. This is a practical, hands‑on position suited to candidates with a mechanical maintenance, operator, or engineering background.
Key Responsibilities
* Strip, inspect, and maintain valves and mechanical components
* Carry out greasing, servicing, and basic repairs
* Take water samples and record operational data
* Perform routine site checks and readings
* Support general maintenance and upkeep of sites
* Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with procedures
* Report issues and elevate faults where required
* Work independently across multiple sites
What We Are Looking For
* Background in mechanical maintenance, plant operations, or similar
* Practical, hands‑on approach with good problem‑solving skills
* Comfortable working alone in a field‑based role
* Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
* Full UK driving licence (essential)
* Experience in water, utilities, or industrial environments is advantageous but not essential
