As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you’ll be supporting class teachers, leading lessons when required, and delivering targeted interventions. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the continuity of learning and fostering a positive classroom environment. HLTA Responsibilities: Deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the class teacher Support whole-class teaching and provide focused interventions Work with individuals and small groups to raise attainment Assist in planning, assessment, and classroom resource preparation Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment Provide support for students with diverse learning needs Supervise pupils during break times and school activities Offer pastoral care and help manage student behaviour Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals Uphold school policies and safeguarding standards at all times Ideal Candidate Will Have: HLTA status or equivalent recognised qualification Experience working in a UK primary school setting as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or senior-level Teaching Assistant Strong behaviour management and communication skills A flexible and proactive approach to supporting teaching and learning A passion for helping children achieve their full potential Have an updated CV and a current Enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply) Why Join GSL Education?
