About the Role
Joining our Marine Assurance team, this role will deliver marine consultancy services, acting as a technical expert as a consultant in an ad-hoc capacity or as part of a project specific role, preparing quotations and proposals, undertaking marine assurance surveys and document reviews and preparing technical documentation. The role is suitable for an inexperienced candidate, who would be trained on the job, before eventually transitioning to a more Client focused role having completed a suitable number of surveys/ inspections.

Candidate Specification:
1. Based locally or within reasonable travelling distance (<4hrs) of the North East of Scotland.
2. Formal OOW Deck (II/3 or II/1), OOWE Engine (III/1) qualification and/or Naval Architecture/Marine Engineering Degree (Meng/BEng) qualification preferred.
3. Proficient in Office 365 applications. Professional level use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint essential.
4. Good oral and written communication skills essential.
5. Good numeracy, customer care and keyboard skills essential.
6. Experience of working in an office environment.
7. Knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures.
8. The candidate must have the right to work in the UK.
9. IRCA approved internal auditor qualifications (ISO9001/14001) an advantage.
10. Experience in marine, oil & gas and/or renewable energy sectors an advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities:
11. Marine survey and document review within the areas of expertise
12. To attend client office / site / offshore on client’s behalf to conduct surveys / inspection work in order to produce reports or augment desktop analysis
13. Preparation and assistance in the preparation of proposals, bids and tenders
14. Participation in an on call rota to cover out of hours Client requirements
15. Willingness to complete out of hours inspections between 22.00hrs-07.00hrs during the week and at weekends (when on call) also an advantage.
