Maintenance Engineer
Location: Banbury, England, United Kingdom
Base pay range: £51,000 raising to £58,000 after passing probation period.
Shift: 4 week shift rotating, Monday to Friday early (6-2), days (8-4) and afternoons (2-10). Sunday to Thursday nights (10-6).
Responsibilities
* Carry out preventive and reactive maintenance on a wide range of mechanical and packaging equipment, including conveyors, fillers, wrappers, sealers, and labellers.
* Diagnose faults and repair breakdowns quickly and safely to minimise production downtime.
* Support continuous improvement projects focused on equipment reliability, line efficiency, and product quality.
* Collaborate with production, electrical, and process teams to maintain seamless operations.
* Maintain detailed maintenance records and adhere to all Health & Safety and Quality standards.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, pumps, conveyors, and packaging automation equipment.
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical and engineering drawings.
* A proactive, solution-focused approach with excellent attention to detail and safety awareness.
Qualifications
* Recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering (HNC, NVQ, or equivalent).
* Proven experience in a maintenance or engineering role within a packaging, manufacturing, or FMCG environment.
