HGV Refuse Drivers - Temporary Position
The DWP BRIDPORT Depot is seeking HGV Refuse Drivers to join their team on a temporary basis to support their permanent staff. This role offers the potential for full-time hours on an ongoing basis; however, no hours can be guaranteed. The primary responsibility is driving a refuse truck around residential areas, including narrow streets and roads. You may also work with a team of 1 to 3 refuse loaders who will assist you. While the role mainly involves driving, you must also be prepared to carry out refuse and recycling duties when not driving.
Responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring the security and safety of the vehicle on site, on the road, and in the depot.
2. Performing daily vehicle checks to ensure mechanical operation and roadworthiness, and completing relevant statutory paperwork.
3. Maintaining vehicle cleanliness.
4. Assisting loaders with collecting refuse and recycling when not driving.
5. Liaising professionally with the public, resolving queries or complaints promptly, and promoting DWP core values.
6. Complying with health and safety guidelines to ensure safe working practices.
7. Collecting domestic waste from curbsides, recycling sorting, cleansing duties, and general yard duties.

* CV
* Valid HGV Driving Licence – Photo card – No more than 6 points
* Completed CPC Card
* Digi-Tacho card
* Passport or Birth Certificate with National Insurance Number proof
