We are seeking a Programme Officer to help develop and deliver our programme of activities. The successful candidate will join a thriving organisation as part of a small Programme team under the leadership of the Programme Director. The Programme Officer will play a key role in developing and managing our work, which aims to nurture young people as ethical leaders and create programmes that empower others through dialogue and debate to address social division.
We are seeking a team player with a background in education or programme delivery, who is well-organised and an efficient administrator, with excellent interpersonal skills. The candidate must be intellectually curious with strong research abilities, and confident and articulate in communication. Alignment with our ethos of addressing social division through constructive dialogue is essential.
This role will be responsible for managing the delivery of our cohort programmes, including Youth & Democracy, Rule of Law, and Gen Z and the City. There is scope for developing new programme areas, including arts and public history projects, in response to contemporary challenges.
Reporting and Collaboration
* Report to: Programme Manager
* Work closely with: Programme Director, Communications & Engagement team, Chief Executive, Front of House team
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and deliver educational resources, workshops, and conferences related to programme areas;
2. Deliver workshops such as Exploring Ethics and others as requested;
3. Identify potential partners and collaborate with stakeholders;
4. Produce funding proposals and briefing papers;
5. Create digital content for online learning, including webinars and podcasts;
6. Act as Duty Officer for weekends, involving welcoming guests, leading sessions, and escorting groups (accommodation provided);
7. Participate in departmental and planning meetings;
8. Work with the Communications team on website and social media content;
9. Conduct history tours and welcome talks for external guests;
10. Perform other tasks as required.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
* Undergraduate degree in a relevant social science or humanities discipline;
* Experience working with young people and youth organisations;
* Experience facilitating group discussions in educational settings;
* Experience managing projects and events from inception to evaluation;
* Experience in funding applications;
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
* Ability to build and maintain networks across sectors;
* Teamwork and collaboration ethos;
* Proficiency with IT packages and platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
* Postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline;
* Experience in researching programme content;
* Experience designing online educational materials (e.g., podcasts, animations).
