Overview
Prisoner Escort Custody Services (PECS), Serco operates across 105 courts and 16 vehicle bases throughout London, East & West England. On average we transport over 21,000 custodies per month and at the core of our service is our Operational Control Centre Team (OCC) working to ensure custodies are transported on time, on schedule and in a safe & secure way.
Join the Planning & Logistics role at the OCC in Gloucester. This is a hands-on position that contributes to a larger mission and offers opportunities for development within Serco.
What You’ll Do Day To Day
Firstly, you’ll be responsible for the planning and scheduling of vehicles to ensure the safe transport of custodies in line with the agreed service delivery. You’ll work closely with our crews & establishments (prisons, courts, etc.) to ensure custodies are transported on time and in a safe & secure manner. Using a number of IT applications you will monitor the vehicles and respond to emergency alarms raised by crews. You will work with multiple agencies ensuring the safe and secure delivery of the custodies return to their destination. You’ll need to be quick on your feet to adapt to unpredictable changes and deal with incidents or challenges that occur throughout the day.
What You Need To Do The Role
If you are detail oriented, highly organised, resilient with exceptional communication skills, then we want to hear from you. Ideally you’ll have previous experience in a similar role, organizing large scale logistics/scheduling plans in a large geographical area. You’ll be computer literate with the ability to quickly assimilate large volumes of data. Experience is not essential as we will provide full training; however, if you have relevant experience it would be highly beneficial.

* This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office.
* You will be required to obtain Ministry of Justice Enhanced Level 2 Vetting & Enhanced DBS with Child Barring.
