As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be part of a growing team, contributing to the provision of quantity surveying services to Currie & Brown’s clients and assisting senior staff members.
Client
* Support the associate director to establish the project brief.
* Establish project deliverables that are proactive, timely, and qualitative.
* Provide value-added, solution-driven services.
* Lead and contribute to the commercial interests and aspirations of the company and your business unit.
* Promote Currie & Brown values of Clients, People, Excellence, and Sustainability.
* Strive to provide the best cost consultancy services to clients.
* Attend client meetings, site visits, and provide advisory services.
People
* Coach and challenge junior/graduate team members with clear objectives and responsibilities.
* Become an industry expert and share your knowledge.
* Participate in internal forums, training, and social events.
Service Delivery
* Assess designs, prepare Bills of Quantities, cost plans, and budget estimates.
* Estimate costs, analyze risks, and control costs.
* Manage tendering, procurement, and contract administration.
* Assist in preparing tender documents and undertake tender analysis.
* Follow methods and procedures in Currie & Brown’s Quality Management System.
* Undertake project feasibility assessments.
* Support leaders in addressing issues promptly through effective communication.
* Increase visibility by engaging in local industry organizations.
* Ensure compliance with QSE manual.
Finance
* Forecast revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates, and project utilization.
* Prepare monthly valuations and financial statements.
* Assist in final account negotiations.
* Participate in post-contract control, tax depreciation, and bank reporting.
Qualifications
* Degree in a construction-related discipline or equivalent experience.
* Engage actively with the team to learn and grow.
* Sound understanding of the build cycle.
* Experience with CostX and knowledge of BIM.
* Participation in Currie & Brown’s Mentoring Program.
* Excellent interpersonal, client-facing, IT, numeracy, and literacy skills.
* Strong communication skills.
* Maintain professionalism in attitude, appearance, and work ethic.
