Children & Young People's Wellbeing Practitioner Trainees, CAMHS (training posts) - Fixed Term 1 year

We are excited to offer 4 training posts; across our three Community CAMHS services.

These are full time training posts which will involve undertaking a postgraduate diploma level training hosted by the University of Reading whilst being based within one of our CAMHS clinical teams.

Candidates will need to be ready to start academic training in February 2026 at the University of Reading (UoR). Interviews will be held jointly with the UoR and successful candidates will be required to complete the application form for a place on the Graduate/Postgraduate Diploma in Brief Evidence-Based Psychological Interventions for CYP with Common Mental Health Problems course. An additional learning agreement, supplementary to the Terms and Conditions of Employment, will be issued to clarify the responsibilities and obligations linked to the period of learning during employment in this role.

The course timetable and course summary are attached.

As a Trainee Children & Young People's Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) you will be trained to assess and deliver low-intensity interventions for common mental health problems in children and young people such as low mood, anxiety and behavioural difficulties.

You will develop your skills with a mixture of role-play and skills practice teaching, as well as clinical work in service.

For the main duties and responsibilities for this role please read the attached job description and person specification. When completing your application please ensure your supporting statement reflects the criteria set out in these documents by showing how your experience and skills apply to this post.

Please note that this post does not meet the pay or skill level required for a Skilled worker visa.

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.

Applicants requiring a Skilled Worker Visa can determine the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship against the relevant criteria here
