Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential? We are looking for a dedicated and resilient Special Needs Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for four pupils within a welcoming and inclusive school environment.
About the Role
In this role, you will work closely with pupils who display challenging behaviours, including two students who are non-verbal. A key focus will be helping these pupils increase their engagement with school and supporting their transition from part-time to full-time timetables. Your support will play a vital role in developing their social, emotional and academic progress.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support both inside and outside the classroom
* Implement individualised behaviour management strategies
* Support pupils' progress in core learning and communication skills
* Work collaboratively with teachers, parents and pastoral staff
* Foster a safe, supportive and positive learning environment that encourages independence and confidence
What We're Looking For
* Experience working with children with challenging behaviour and/or communication needs
* Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
* Patience, resilience and empathy when supporting young people
* A confident communicator who works well as part of a team
