Plumbing & Oil Heating Engineer

Key Responsibilities
You'll install, maintain, and repair plumbing and oil heating systems including boilers, pumps, valves, and cylinders. You'll carry out planned, reactive, and emergency maintenance, ensuring all systems meet safety and compliance standards such as COSHH, Legionella, and Asbestos. You'll interpret technical drawings, complete accurate documentation, and liaise with clients and colleagues to deliver high-quality service. Working safely in hazardous environments and contributing to continuous improvement will be key parts of your role.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
1. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
2. Gas Safe registered and ACS certified (LPG Commercial)
3. OFTEC qualified
4. City & Guilds qualifications in relevant disciplines
5. EAL Diploma in Plumbing and Heating
6. CITB training qualifications
7. GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths
8. Minimum 2 years' experience in plumbing or a related role
9. Proven background in maintenance or facilities management
10. Full, clean UK driving licence
11. Ability to obtain MOD Basic Security Clearance
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
12. Authorised Person (Electrical) qualifications
13. ATEX/DESEAR/COMPEX trained and certified
14. 18th Edition City & Guilds IEE Wiring Regulations
15. City & Guilds Electrical Testing & Inspection
16. Unvented qualification (G3) with practical experience
17. IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health & safety qualification
18. Skilled Persons Register eligibility
19. Experience in MOD environments
20. Knowledge of Water Supply Regulations and Legionella control (L8)
