We are looking to appoint a permanent full-time Teacher of Biology and Science from Thursday 28 August 2025.
Biology at Alleyn’s has a rich history, with former pupils recognised for their work in Biology and medical sciences with prominent research positions in the UK and overseas, and the successful applicant will join a large, well-established academic department.
This post could suit either an experienced teacher, someone early in their career (e.g. an ECT) or possibly an aspiring teacher wanting to enter the profession (we have a full training and induction programme in place).
For the right candidate, there is the possibility of immediate departmental responsibility, including acting as the formal 'Second in Department’ for Biology.
We are looking for someone with a real love for science and for learning and an ability to convey this to and motivate pupils and staff alike. Having a natural empathy and pastoral instinct is also vital, as is being able to work as part of a strong team.
All staff enjoy access to superb facilities and resources, as well as a variety of great benefits which are detailed in our Working at Alleyn’sbrochure.
Interviews are planned for Thursday 15 May and further details including how to apply can be found here
If you have any questions or would like to discuss an application, you are very welcome to contact the HR Department (jobs@alleyns.org.uk, 020 8299 8009).
Please note that suitable candidates may be interviewed before the closing date, and we reserve the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made.
The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. Alleyn’s is an Equal Opportunities employer.
Alleyn’s welcomes applications from all applicants who meet the requirements for the position, however we are especially keen to receive applications from those in minority groups for which the School is currently underrepresented. We celebrate diversity and thrive on the benefits it brings.
