Company Description

Ideas + Outcomes is focused on delivering exceptional results for its clients by leveraging innovative solutions. Using our unique Inside/Out Thinking™ approach, we combine Customer Science, Creativity, Strategy, Data, and Technology to unlock business performance and drive growth. We prioritise creating impactful and strategic solutions tailored to the specific needs of our clients.

Our Vision: To become the UK’s Most Recommended Agency and to be recognised as a Great Place to Work. We’re already a Drum Recommended Agency – our clients consistently rate us 9/10 – and we’re genuinely excited about what’s next.

The Role

This is more than just a design role; it’s a launchpad for a talented junior creative who’s ready to step up, sharpen their craft, and start making real impact inside a forward-thinking agency. As a Junior Designer, you’ll work at the intersection of precision artworking and creative execution, helping bring ideas to life across print, digital, brand, and campaign work - all while learning from some of the best in the business.

We’re looking for someone with around 1.5–2+ years’ creative agency experience who’s outgrown their first role and is hungry for the next challenge. Maybe you’re the ambitious talent who’s been punching above your weight since day one. Maybe you’re the capable, dependable designer who’s ready for a move to somewhere that will genuinely invest in your growth. Either way, if you’re good with your hands, sharp with your eye, and serious about where you’re heading — we want to hear from you.

You’ll be the detail-obsessed partner every creative team needs: someone who takes design concepts and makes them production-perfect, ensuring every asset is polished, on-brand, and built to perform. From advertising campaigns and brand toolkits to digital assets, point-of-sale, and social content, your work will span the full breadth of our output — and your fingerprints will be on work for brands that genuinely matter.

This position is about building the foundations of a brilliant design career. You’ll develop a deep understanding of what makes creative work effective, learn to translate strategic thinking into visual solutions, and gain the confidence to contribute your own ideas to the mix. We want someone who’s curious, hungry to improve, and excited by the prospect of growing within a team that values ambition as much as ability.

What You’ll Do

• Produce high-quality artworking and design execution across print, digital, and brand channels - ensuring everything that leaves the studio is pixel-perfect and brand-consistent.

• Support senior designers and art directors in bringing creative concepts to life, from initial layouts through to final, production-ready assets.

• Work across a varied portfolio of client briefs, gaining broad exposure to advertising campaigns, brand development, packaging, point-of-sale, digital asset production, and social content.

• Prepare and adapt artwork for multiple formats and outputs - you’ll understand the technical demands of both print production and digital delivery.

• Maintain and organise brand asset libraries, templates, and style guides - becoming the person the team trusts to keep things consistent and up to date.

• Contribute to the creative process with your own ideas and visual thinking, particularly during brainstorms and internal reviews.

• Collaborate closely with colleagues in strategy, UX, development, and project management to ensure your work delivers on both the brief and the business objective.

What You’ll Bring

• Around 1.5–2+ years’ experience in a creative agency environment, with a portfolio that demonstrates strong artworking skills, a genuine feel for brand consistency, and the ambition to keep pushing forward.

• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite - particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. These are your daily tools; you should be fast, confident, and precise.

• Strong skills across social media platforms — you understand the design nuances that make content perform across different channels and formats, and you’re comfortable producing assets built for social.

• An eye for typography, layout, and composition that goes beyond following templates - you understand why good design works, not just how to replicate it.

• Excellent organisational skills and an ability to manage multiple briefs simultaneously without dropping quality or missing deadlines.

• A collaborative mindset and genuine enthusiasm for learning. You’re comfortable asking questions, taking feedback on board, and pushing yourself to improve.

Bonus Skills (Nice-to-Have)

We’re always excited by designers who are exploring where the industry is heading. If you bring any of the following, consider it a plus:

• Familiarity with AI-assisted creative tools such as Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, or similar - and an appetite for experimenting with how they can enhance (not replace) great design thinking.

• Basic animation and motion graphics skills: the ability to bring assets to life with simple movement for digital and social. We recognise this sits closer to a specialism in its own right, so any experience here is a genuine bonus rather than a core expectation.

• An interest in UX design. We have a dedicated UX Lead in-house, and for the right person there’s a real opportunity to develop that interest through hands-on collaboration and structured upskilling alongside our UX team.

Mentorship & The Common Thread Network

You won’t be designing in a vacuum. As part of the Common Thread group, you’ll have a front-row seat to how award-winning work is actually built.

• Direct Access. Work daily alongside seasoned Creative Directors and Senior Designers who have been there, done that at the highest level. This isn’t a role where you’ll be left to figure things out alone - you’ll learn by doing, right next to people who set the standard.

• The Common Thread Exchange. Opportunities to collaborate with sister agencies within the group, exposing you to different sectors - from high-end branding to digital-first activations. It’s the kind of cross-pollination that accelerates careers.

• Quarterly Masterclasses. Internal sessions focusing on the Why behind the What - learning how to defend a concept and bridge the gap between a brief and a breakthrough. Think of it as the creative education most agencies promise but never deliver.

Your Path: From Junior to Mid-Weight

We don’t want you to stay a Junior forever. Our goal is to move you toward autonomy within 12–18 months through:

• Structured Feedback. No guessing if you’re doing well. You’ll have regular 1-to-1s focused on your portfolio growth, not just your task list. We’ll tell you where you’re strong, where you need to push, and what the next level looks like.

• Concept Involvement. While you’ll master the Outcomes (the production and delivery), you’ll be invited into the Ideas phase early on. You’ll learn how to take a seed of a thought and grow it into a campaign — the skill that separates good designers from great ones.

• Software & Tooling. We’ll keep you at the cutting edge of 2026 workflows, from advanced Figma prototyping to AI-integrated asset generation. The tools are changing fast; we’ll make sure you’re ahead of the curve, not behind it.
