Children's Independent Reviewing and Improvement Officer
We are looking for an innovative, dynamic and experienced person to join our Children's Health, Care and Justice Service as an Independent Reviewing and Improvement Officer. Working as a member of the Promise Participation and Improvement Team you will influence transformational change across East Ayrshire as we strive to improve the lives of our care‑experienced children, young people and young adults.
Responsibilities
* Undertake reviews for children and drive improvement in children's services through quality assurance and development activity.
* Work as part of the Promise Participation and Improvement Team to influence transformational change across East Ayrshire.
* Collaborate extensively within the East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership.
* Line‑manage participation leaders and modern apprentices to ensure the voice of children and young people remains at the centre of change efforts.
* Commit to improving outcomes for the care‑experienced community, removing barriers and stigma within the system.
Requirements
* Regulated work with children and/or protected adults as defined by the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
* Must be a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member or undergo a record update before formal offer.
* Required to provide at least two relevant references, one from the current or most recent employer by a senior manager.
Role Details
Full‑time temporary post until 24 August 2026. Workstyle is flexible – 50‑79 % office based, with occasional work from home.
Annual salary: £49,759 – £54,418.
