The Wellcome Clinical Research Facility provides both clinical rooms, nursing care (both in and out-patient) and facilities including echocardiography, 24 hour ECG recording, exercise testing, fluoroscopy and haemodynamic monitoring, adjacent clinic and research rooms and IT support. There are also extensive basic science laboratory facilities on site. The Institute of Translational Medicine opened in September 2016 and houses the Rare Disease Unit, providing individualised clinical care for some of our most complex patients and the ACHD unit with unparalleled research opportunities. There is a dedicated research 3T Cobalt MRI scanner for research.
The ACHD team is currently expanding its research involvement.
