About the Role
As a Factory Operator, you will operate machinery with maximum safety and efficiency, driving activities to maintain and improve performance standards while leading continuous improvement initiatives. This position includes a "Non-Core Champion Role" that integrates functional requirements with operational needs, providing exemplary behavior for colleagues to follow.
Role Responsibilities
* Operate equipment according to best practices while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
* Take ownership of daily performance in your operational area, contributing to factory targets for operational excellence, SKU adherence, waste minimization, and quality standards
* Lead Better Work Systems (BWS) activities and take responsibility for team performance, providing support for the development of colleagues
* Maintain exceptional housekeeping and hygiene standards across the site, serving as a role model for attitude and teamwork
* Perform basic maintenance tasks to enhance efficiency during product and size changeovers
* Act as primary liaison between operations teams and sponsoring functions, organizing team activities to support functional targets
* Communicate effectively with leadership regarding team performance and KPI progression
Experience and Key Attributes
* Manufacturing operational experience in a fast-paced consumer goods environment
* Demonstrated knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles and machinery operation
* Strong communication and team facilitation skills with the ability to develop others
* Working knowledge of SAP systems and manufacturing processes
* Commitment to continuous improvement with a focus on enhancing operational methods
* Sound understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental processes
* Relevant qualifications including NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, Basic Hygiene Certificate, and HACCP Systems knowledge
