Percival are excited to be working exclusively with HideOut Youth Zone to help them recruit for a new Outdoor Sports Coordinator to join their vibrant team.
Empower Youth Zones is the charity that oversees the creation, management and sustainability of both HideOut in Gorton, Manchester, and Salford Youth Zone (SYZ) in Pendleton, Salford. This is an incredibly exciting time for the network as SYZ gets ready to open its doors to the public in the summer of 2025!
Open 7 days a week, the Youth Zones offer a free hot meal and over 20 activities every night for just 50p per visit for young people aged 8-19 and up to 25 with an additional needs. Their incredible facilities include a 3G pitch, climbing wall, gym, sports hall and recreation area, and dance, arts, music, and media suites.
Job Title: Outdoor Sports Coordinator
Reports to: Youth Work Manager
Salary: £26,278 - £27,500
Working Pattern: Full Time, Permanent
Location: HideOut Youth Zone (Gorton, M12)
In this role, the Outdoor Sports Coordinator will develop and oversee the delivery of the outdoor sports offer within the Youth Zone including the MUGA, Sports Pitch, Outdoor Recreation & Adventurous activities including urban sports and indoor climbing. You will take a lead on the development of their outdoor education and adventurous programme including lead responsibility for Youth Zones Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. Designing programmes to facilitate positive outcomes for young people will be key in this role; developing their confidence, self-esteem and social skills for ages 8-25.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Proven experience of working with young people aged 8 -19 (up to 25 for those with additional needs) in outdoor and adventure activity settings. Ideally in activities such as canoeing, rock climbing, BMXing etc.
* Experience of managing a staff team (including volunteers)
* Experience organising and delivering a programme of youth work activities in indoor & outdoor settings, including sports and adventurous activities
