Job Overview
We are appointing a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon with an interest in General Oral, Maxillofacial Surgery and Trauma, and a subspecialty interest in Skin Cancer management.
Clinical commitments will be across Bay at the three sites. The post holder will take part in the consultant on‑call rota and develop a subspecialty interest complementary to those of existing consultants.
Main Duties
You will participate in a general consultant on‑call rota, with a commitment to undertake a weekend morning trauma list during your on‑call weekend. The on‑call rota is 1:4 when this vacancy is filled. You will work closely with ENT colleagues within the MDT Head and Neck cancer service and with Clinical Nurse Specialists who are linked to the Regional Head and Neck Cancer Centre at Royal Preston Hospital (Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust).
Person Specification
* MBChB or equivalent, BDS or equivalent
* Full registration with GMC (and GDC if applicable)
* CCST or equivalent, Fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (FRCS(OMFS))
* Entry on Specialist register (or expected within 6/12 months)
* Research experience
* Recognition as medical educator
* Surgical prize

* Formal teaching qualification
Training and Experience
* Trained Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
* Evidence of subspecialist training in skin cancer management and local skin MDT experience
* Research experience
