Teaching Assistant
Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Salary: £1927 – £2271* per month
Start Date: As soon as possible
GSL Education are working in partnership with a specialist educational setting in Scarborough to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with additional needs.
This setting supports pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and learning difficulties. The school provides a structured, nurturing environment focused on inclusion, emotional wellbeing, and positive outcomes.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils throughout the school day. Responsibilities include:
Providing 1:1 and small group support within the classroom.
Supporting learning activities tailored to individual needs and EHCP targets.
Assisting pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and social development.
Implementing behaviour support strategies and maintaining clear routines.
Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff.
Supporting pupils during transitions, breaktimes, and structured activities.
Assisting with personal care and daily routines where required.
Maintaining a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
