Wayman Education is recruiting a Year 2 Teacher for a welcoming Brent school. The Year 2 Teacher will plan and deliver a sequenced curriculum that secures reading, writing and mathematics outcomes, lead phonics and guided-reading sessions and design targeted interventions. This Year 2 Teacher role commences January 2026, with induction and handover planned before January 2026 to ensure the Year 2 Teacher can begin the spring term confidently.

About the role
The Year 2 Teacher will create differentiated daily lessons, run evidence-informed small-group tuition and maintain accurate assessment records. The Year 2 Teacher will support transition into Key Stage 2, engage families with clear next steps and contribute to whole-school improvement across Brent. As Year 2 Teacher you will take part in moderation, data review and curriculum planning with phase colleagues.
Key responsibilities
* Plan sequenced Year 2 lessons that secure phonics, early reading and number fluency.
* Deliver targeted interventions and measure their impact, adapting approaches as needed.
* Maintain assessment records, contribute to moderation and report progress to parents.
* Work collaboratively with TAs and leaders to ensure consistent Year 2 provision across Brent.
* Support transition, enrichment and pastoral activities to promote pupil wellbeing.
Person specification
* QTS (or equivalent) with proven Year 2/KS1 experience and clear evidence of impact.
* Excellent knowledge of phonics, early reading pedagogy and assessment for learning.
* Organised, data-aware and ready to begin January 2026 in Brent.
