2 Month contract position - Monday - Friday 7.30am - 5.30pm. This will lead to other work.
The company is a UK leading, multi disciplined engineering firm specialising in major mechanical and electrical installations within the food processing industry. The huge range of work carried out by the company includes process pipework and plant installations, planned and preventive maintenance, environmental services and many other engineering services associated with the food and beverage industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for a mechanical fitter to join the mechanical engineering division, supporting a machine and boiler removal project in Sheffield S6 2AP.
Duties
As a suitably experienced mechanical fitter you will be based on site at a food production facility in Sheffield. The works involve removing three large industrial boilers along with the associated plant, pipework and ancillary metalwork. Typical duties will include using a plasma cutter to cut up sections of the boiler so it can be safely taken from the building along with unbolting and removing pipework, walkways, machine guards and some secondary steel work. Other duties will include de-constructing various adhoc fittings and assemblies as necessary and as required by the site engineering team.
About You
Based ideally in Sheffield you will need to live within a commutable distance of S6 2AP.
Demonstrable experience of mechanical fitting and machine moving within a heavy industrial environment with a good understanding of rollers, bearings, motors and pumps is essential for this position.
CSCS is essential, IPAF would be an advantage.
Experience of using a plasma cutter is also essential.
