Job Summary
Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is continuing its digital and clinical transformation journey, aiming to change the way we deliver care across Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly, and the South West Peninsula. We are seeking a highly motivated Digital Elective Care Lead with a strong understanding of NHS administrative and clerical processes and excellent communication skills. This fixed‑term contract (through 31 July 2026) will support the Trust in transitioning from PAS to eCare, driving service transformation and ensuring elective care processes align with programme objectives.
Main duties of the job
* Provide comprehensive project management support to enable the smooth transition from PAS to eCare and its successful implementation and integration.
* Support the implementation of the new Patient Portal, enabling seamless patient engagement.
* Ensure adherence to NHS England guidance and mandated changes, maintaining compliance with national standards.
* Advise and guide eCare training personnel, embedding functionality and workflows in training materials and sessions.
* Participate in Robotic Process Automation discussions, identifying opportunities for automation within eCare workflows.
* Align eCare processes with third‑party suppliers’ roles and functionality.
* Use technical skills and judgement to improve referral management, inpatient/outpatient correspondence, pre‑procedure information collection, and diagnostic workflows.
* Contribute to service redesign initiatives, optimise processes, and improve patient experience.
* Support data migration and testing cycles, ensuring accuracy and continuity of patient information.
* Apply analytical, negotiation and influencing skills to resolve operational challenges and support Elective Planned Care pathway improvements.

Person Specification – Essential
* Proven structured project management skills, including managing change and leading project teams.
* Relevant experience in health services or other large‑scale customer service organisations.
* Previous NHS operational management experience.
* Ability to organise and prioritise multiple tasks, meeting deadlines.
* Hold a formal project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE, APM, Agile) or equivalent experience.
* Educated to degree level or equivalent with a specialist IMT or business management qualification.
* Analytical problem‑solving skills, independent analysis, oversight of testing and option appraisals, recommendations based on analysis.
* Good team leadership, coordination, motivation skills, and a team‑player attitude.
