We are seeking a Health & Safety Manager to join the Harrison Spinks team within our Head Office - The Innovation Centre, Beeston, Leeds. The Health & Safety Manager will ensure that a workplace is safe, healthy, and compliant withrelevant laws and regulations, playing a critical role in preventing accidents, injuries, andillnesses among employees and visitors. Reporting into the Operations Director, Beds, they will be responsible for developing, implementing,and overseeing health and safety programs and policies within an organisation. Working tocreate a safe and healthy work environment, minimize workplace hazards, and ensurecompliance with local and national regulations. The Health and Safety Manager will act as lead advisor for all matters of Health and Safety across the Harrison Spinks group, including all our Components and Events sites. Full time position, 39 hours Key Responsibilities include: Develop, update, and implement health and safety policies and procedures inaccordance with applicable laws and regulations. Communicate and enforce safety standards throughout the organisation. Ensure RoSPA Accreditation is maintained to a silver standard and work with senior stakeholders to strive for a gold accreditation. Lead subject specific projects and meetings with colleagues / stakeholders applying knowledge, experience, and all aspects of your duties to drive and develop new safety initiatives as part of group projects. Conduct regular risk assessments to identify workplace hazards and potentialsafety issues. Identifying and controlling significant loss producing exposures, providing summary strategic reports and recommendations to the leadership team. Ensure the organisation complies with all legal requirements, includingreporting obligations to all relevant bodies. Facilitate health and safety training to employees, contractors, and visitors and be responsible for maintaining, arranging, and delivering inductions, refresher training and toolbox talks. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes to understand if the business had any liability and create recommendations that would be implemented into the policy. Develop and maintain emergency response plans and evacuation procedures. Perform regular workplace and on-site safety inspections and audits to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement through behavioural observations, coaching, analysis, communication, and engagement with all relevant parties and contractors. Maintain records of inspections and corrective actions. Foster a culture of safety within the organisation, encouraging employees totake responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others. Prepare and submit health and safety reports to senior management, regulatoryagencies, and other relevant stakeholders as required. Responsible for Health and Safety budget and budgetary process. Regular travel to our Harrison Group sites. Including Events and Components. Key Skills & Experience: As a confident and experienced Health and Safety Manager, you will have an in-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and hold relevant certifications, such as NEBOSH and/or Level 6 H&S qualification preferred. You will be an interpersonal & exceptional communicator, who is confident building internal relationships, building and influencing a safety-focused culture. As a supportive leader, you will motivate and inspire your team by creating an environment that promotes positive communication and supports with development and training. As a self-motivated individual, you will have experience in conducting safety training and audits. With excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, you will be proficient in relevant software and tools for data analysis and documentation. Knowledge and understanding of ERP systems and processes at a multi-disciplinary level and Risk assessment training is essential.
