Senior Software Engineer, Data
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Senior Software Engineer to join our growing team. This is a critical hybrid role where you will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of our cutting-edge AI-driven platform. You will apply your data engineering expertise to build the foundational data pipelines that will power our future growth, while also taking on core software engineering tasks. We emphasise code quality, robust architecture, and collaborative problem-solving. You will be expected to take ownership of significant projects and contribute to the overall technical direction of the team.
Responsibilities
* Software and Data Development: Design, develop, and test high-quality, maintainable, and scalable Python code for our platform. This will include a mix of general software engineering tasks and the initial build-out of our data infrastructure.
* Data Pipeline Design: Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform datasets.
* Data Tools and Technologies: Develop data processing jobs using tools like Apache Airflow, Spark, Pandas, and Polars.
* Data Quality and Consistency: Ensure the accuracy and reliability of our data. This includes handling complex data transformations and adjustments, such as corporate actions, to maintain historical data consistency.
* Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with researchers, quantitative analysts, and other engineers to deliver innovative solutions across the stack.
* Problem Solving: Tackle complex technical challenges and develop creative solutions for both our core platform and our data infrastructure.
* Shipping Products: Demonstrate a proven track record of successfully shipping software products to production, with a focus on both operational excellence and data integrity。
Requirements
* Extensive Software Engineering Experience: A demonstrable track record of delivering high-quality software products in a professional setting.
* Strong Python Skills: A high standard of proficiency in Python programming.
* Data Engineering Skills: Proven experience with building and managing data pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow. Experience with data processing libraries like Pandas and Polars is essential.
* Big Data and Cloud Experience: Experience with distributed data processing frameworks like Apache Spark is highly valued. You should also be comfortable working with cloud object storage services such as Amazon S3.
* Financial Data Experience: Experience working with financial data, particularly a strong understanding of how to handle data adjustments and corporate actions is a significant plus.
* Focus on Code Quality: A deep understanding of software engineering principles and a passion for writing clean, well-tested, and maintainable code.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to break down complex problems into manageable tasks.
* Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
