Operational Technology Engineer – SCADA – Lincolnshire

The OT Engineer will take ownership of the ongoing management, enhancement, and performance of the organisation’s operational technology infrastructure, including SCADA platforms, PLC systems, industrial communications networks, and operational data environments supporting anaerobic digestion facilities, CHP generation assets, and gas-to-grid upgrading operations.
Working closely with engineering and operational teams, the role will be instrumental in driving reliability, efficiency, and standardisation across multiple sites. The successful individual will champion best practices, foster collaboration, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence as the business continues to expand.
Key skills and responsibilities
* Support, maintain, and enhance SCADA, PLC, and OT systems across AD, CHP, and G2G sites.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to control systems, instrumentation, HMIs, and industrial networks.
* Improve plant performance through effective monitoring, alarm management, reporting, and data analysis.
* Identify operational inefficiencies, reliability concerns, and data quality issues, implementing improvements where required.
* Drive OT standardisation activities, including system backups, documentation, asset management, and change control.
* Work closely with engineering and operations teams to maximise plant uptime, reliability, and operational efficiency.
* Support the integration of OT platforms with business systems, reporting tools, and data historians.
* Assist with plant upgrades, commissioning activities, and continuous improvement projects.
* Ensure OT cybersecurity standards are maintained, supporting secure and resilient system architectures.
* Collaborate with IT teams, system integrators, and third-party suppliers to deliver robust OT solutions.
* Maintain technical documentation, procedures, and operational standards.
* Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
* Monitor and support industrial communication networks and protocols, including Modbus, OPC, Profibus, Profinet, and Ethernet/IP.
