University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship this role. This is in accordance with UKVI guidelines and legislation, as these roles do not meet the skill nor salary threshold for sponsorship. If you hold a graduate visa, you are welcome to apply for this role however it is important to note that UHNM will be unable to offer sponsorship at the end of your graduate visa, you must also have at least six months until your graduate visa expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons.

The Role of the Urology Nursing Assistant with administrative responsibilities is essential to the organisation and function of the urology nurse led ambulatory unit.

The post holder will be responsible for a range of delegated clinical, non-clinical and clerical task in support of the departmental patient pathways.

The post holder will act as a first point of contact for the urology ambulatory service, acting independently to organise the logistics of planning and populating a variety of departmental clinics.

Where possible, to deputise for the early diagnostic urology patient tracker.

Organise all aspects of clerical duties including reception duties, maintenance of computerised and manual record systems, booking appointments, filing and ordering and storage of supplies.

Co-ordinator for weekly clinics at both sites.

Demonstrate excellent customer care skills.

Attend relevant study sessions for clerical support.

Organise the delivery and retrieval of specimens if appropriate, items & equipment to and from the clinical area including various clinic bases

Maintain a clean, safe, hazard free environment.

Utilise and update all TRUST patient record systems

Deputise for the Early Diagnostic Tracker

The provision of care involves invasive procedures, some of which require additional training and assessment of competence by a suitable qualified assessor.( venepuncture, bladder scanning urinary flow & residual measurements, TWOC)

Assist registered nurses with a variety of clinical procedures

This role includes interpretation or analysis of clinical data. (Bladder scanning)

Prepare the environment for the admission of patients for urology outpatient examinations & procedures.

Chaperone medical/nursing staff during patient examination.

Communicate relevant information to the relevant consultant, ANP, CNS Nurse in charge.

Promote patient empowerment clinical pathways for example teach intermittent self-catheterisation
