Position Overview Ithaca Energy is accepting applications for the position of Wells Process and Procedures Advisor, located in our Aberdeen Office. Reporting to the Technical Authority and Procedures Manager, the Process and Procedures Advisor will continually update and improve the Well Management System. Collecting input from the Wells Leadership team, gathering feedback from the Wells Group members and changes to industry practices or technical bodies. Manage the Wells Group competency process, tools, date input and assessment. Support the Wells Group with individual technology, practices or process improvements through assessment and implementation. Responsibilities Responsible for developing processes, procedures and/or standards with due regard to the health, safety of self, others and of the environment in which they are undertaken. Inclusion of ORMs, ORAs, MOCs, RAs related requirements at appropriate points within the single unified WMS according to Ithaca’s business processes and policies. Assisting in preparation for regulatory compliance audits and assisting in responding to HSE, OPRED and NSTA recommendations. Inclusion of industry guidance, engineering standards & legislation within the single unified WMS. Responsible for supporting the implementation of a system defining high risk potential wells, based on well complexity indices and potential economic exposure. Managing a unified Wells Department Competency Assessment system. Accountable for ensuring applicable Ithaca policies/procedures, best industry practices, standards and company procedures are included within the new unified set of well engineering and operations processes, procedures and/or standards. Accountable for technical support of the Wells Department as directed by the Technical Authorities & Procedures Manager. Ensuring that the technical specifications being written follow the appropriate engineering standard and legislation comprising, for example, UK Design and Construction Regulations, IOGP, IADC, API and ISO Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s or higher university degree in relevant subject. IWCF Surface and Subsea Well Control Level 4 Extensive experience working in Wells Department of an operator or a Well Management Company in the roles of drilling engineer, completions engineer, engineering manager, drilling manager, well design subject matter expert and well examiner. Extensive experience in barrier assurance of offshore operations and knowledge of the root causes of MAH’s (Major Accident Hazards), e.g. Piper Alpha, Alexander Kielland, Ocean Ranger, Macondo, Ocean Odyssey, etc. Experience writing and interpreting wells standards for major and independent oil and gas operators with extensive experience implementing industry standards and UK regulatory requirements. Technically proficient in the use of well engineering software including, but not limited to, the Landmark products of Well Plan, Stress Check, WellCat and Compass. Proficiency with Microsoft software with significant Word Processing and Spreadsheet usage and programming experience. Self-motivated and can work with minimal guidance being pro-active in providing the relevant and appropriate input to meet the needs of the Wells Department. Capable of demonstrating competence at Superintendent level. Ability to work and communicate effectively with colleagues, partners and all other stakeholders.
