Overview
We are looking to hire an In‑Service Engineering Manager (Chinook) to join the Technical Support Section of our Services Operations team.
What will you deliver?
* Own, lead and deliver all technical service aspects within the Chinook programme.
* Provide support and coordination to all Through Life aspects of support (Obsolescence, Technical Publications, ILS, DRACAS, Modelling, Configuration Management, Work Package Management).
* Work across Thales core, off‑site technical support team, customers and suppliers.
* Manage work package management for project engineering activities.
* Ensure all team members are aware of deliverables, timescales and budget.
* Act as engineering point of contact with the customer and partners.
* Achieve through‑life engineering milestones, metrics and reporting to meet Technical, Cost, Schedule and Quality requirements.
* Establish and manage configuration control strategy for Thales responsibilities.
* Identify, manage and report risk to the Project Manager.
* Support the Project Manager as the engineering representative at Management Team Progress Reviews and Customer Management Reviews.
* Operate and support within Thales QMS and DAOS governance requirements.
* Propose improvements for operational activities, products, business tools and processes.
* Support Business Development, Bids & Proposal activities – technical review of solutions, generation and review of technical proposals and TLSE estimates.
Who are we looking for?
* Team player who can interface well with engineering management and site‑based customer and Thales teams.
* General engineering knowledge/experience in support, test, production and development environments.
* Good understanding of engineering standards, processes and maturity models.
* Experience in working in a relevant support or service environment and managing customer/supplier relationships.
* Ability to build and maintain professional and productive relationships across multidisciplinary functions and the wider industry partners.
* Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyse technical data to ensure correct technical decisions are made and communicated effectively.
Desirable
* Work package management and reporting experience.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Familiarity with Teamcenter.
* Experience as Project Security and Technical Control Officer.
* Successful management of technical teams.
* Familiarity with Chinook Thales UK CDS/MAS and SCCS systems.
* Estimating and bid support experience.

Security Clearance Requirement
This role requires Security Clearance (SC). If you do not currently hold clearance, you must obtain and maintain SC prior to commencing employment. Generally, full SC requires residence in the UK for the last five years, but some circumstances may accept a minimum of three years’ residence over the last five years with additional overseas checks.
