Are you a seasoned Facilities professional with a passion for structured maintenance planning and asset management? We’re recruiting for a Planned Maintenance Manager to join a leading manufacturer based in Plymouth. This is a key role within the Facilities team, responsible for ensuring the delivery of a robust planned maintenance programme across a diverse property and asset portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
🛠️ Maintenance & Facilities Oversight
* Lead the planning and execution of the Planned Maintenance Programme across owned, leased, and hired assets.
* Ensure site-based Facilities Managers are supported in delivering maintenance tasks and resolving follow-up defects.
* Oversee the development and optimisation of the CAFM system to support Facilities, HSE, and Occupational Health functions.
* Manage the permit-to-work system and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
* Support long-term planning for building and machinery maintenance and replacement.
👥 Leadership & Team Development
* Lead the central Planned Maintenance function and support supplier relationship management.
* Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
* Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Deputise for senior facilities leadership when required.
📊 Reporting & Compliance
* Maintain accurate records of inspections, compliance documentation, and risk assessments.
* Ensure alignment with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
* Manage safe systems of work and ensure documentation is up to date and accessible.
💰 Budget & Resource Management
* Approve and receipt planned and reactive maintenance orders
* Monitor spend against budget and ensure value for money across maintenance activities.
Person Specification:
🎓 Qualifications & Experience
* Facilities Management qualification or 10+ years’ experience in a similar role.
* Membership of IOSH, IWFM or working towards certification.
* Level 4 Management qualification and evidence of continued professional development.
🧠 Skills & Attributes
* Proven experience in facilities and property maintenance management.
* Strong understanding of planned maintenance standards and regulatory compliance.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
* Calm and confident leadership style with the ability to manage teams and contractors effectively.
