Working hours: 30 hours per week; 5 days in 7, Monday to Sunday, 08:15-14:15.
Responsibilities
* Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
* Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
* Build relationships with customers.
* Work outdoors in all weathers.
* Deliver exams, birthday cards, business orders, and other important items.
What to expect
* Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps).
* Driving a Royal Mail van daily.
* Working in all weather conditions.
* Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels.
* Busy, time‑pressured days, especially during peak periods.
About you
* A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address).
* Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment.
* Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs/hills, and lifting/carrying 10kg+ mailbags.
* Reliable and self‑motivated.
* Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.

As a Postie, you're expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.
