Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Window Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various construction and fitting techniques, ensuring high-quality installation and maintenance of windows in both residential and commercial properties. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Responsibilities
* Measure and cut window frames to fit specific dimensions accurately.
* Install various types of windows, including double-glazed, casement, and sash windows.
* Ensure proper sealing and insulation around window fittings to prevent drafts and leaks.
* Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters, plumbers, and electricians to ensure seamless integration of window installations.
* Conduct repairs and maintenance on existing windows as required.
* Interpret schematics and technical drawings to guide installations.
* Utilise hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during installation processes.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
Experience
Candidates should have experience or knowledge in the following areas:
* Roofing techniques related to window fitting.
* Basic plumbing skills for integrating windows with existing structures.
* Welding experience for metal frame installations when necessary.
* Electrical experience for working with window mechanisms or integrated systems.
* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment relevant to construction tasks.
* Familiarity with plastering techniques for finishing around window installations.
* Fabrication skills for custom window designs or modifications.
* Carpentry skills to ensure structural integrity during installations.
* Understanding of construction painting methods for finishing touches post-installation.
