Technology/Art Technician
Location: Fakenham
Salary: SCP5 A GBP 25,583 to SCP6 A GBP 25,989 FTE, Pro Rata: GBP 10,979 to GBP 11,351
Hours: 18 hours per week, Term time plus 2 weeks

The Academy is part of the Education Trust, an expanding multi-academy trust with 10 primary and 7 secondary schools.
The Role
We are seeking a part-time Technology/Art Technician to support our busy Technology and Art Department. Responsibilities include providing technical support, maintaining equipment, ensuring health and safety compliance, and supporting teaching staff and students during lessons. The ideal candidate will manage a varied workload, learn new skills quickly, and work effectively as part of a team. Skills required include basic computer administration, with experience in 3D printing or laser cutting beneficial but not essential, as training will be provided. The role aims to support students in developing their skills and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in preparing and assembling equipment for demonstrations, practical classes, assessments, and exams.
* Maintain and clean equipment to high standards.
* Ensure all equipment/resources are functional and comply with health and safety standards.
* Maintain a safe environment, dealing with spillages or hazards during practical activities.
* Perform minor repairs and modifications on apparatus and equipment.
* Manage storage areas, monitor stock, and assist with stocktaking.
* Carry out general tasks such as porterage and collecting supplies from suppliers.
* Keep up-to-date with technical developments in the field.
* Follow departmental and Academy health and safety procedures, promoting safe working practices.
* Support and contribute to open events as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
* Level 2 or equivalent in English/Literacy and Maths/Numeracy.
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Experience in preparing materials and equipment for practical work.
* Good interpersonal skills and effective communication with children and adults.
* Ability to maintain a clean and safe environment.
* Knowledge of health and safety standards relevant to the role.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
