Job Title: Revenues Officer Location: Fully Remote Job Type: Temporary Department: Billing and Recovery Team About the Role Our Client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Revenues Officer to join our Billing and Recovery team on a temporary, fully remote basis. This role focuses on the accurate billing, collection, and recovery of council tax, ensuring residents receive timely and fair service. Key Responsibilities * Accurately establish council tax liability, applying appropriate discounts, reliefs, and exemptions in line with legislation and council policy. * Support the efficient billing and collection of council tax to maximise income for the council. * Negotiate, set up, and monitor payment arrangements with residents and follow up on arrears in accordance with agreed procedures. * Provide a responsive and professional service to all service users, ensuring equality, fairness, and respect at every point of contact. * Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with data protection and relevant regulations. Required Skills and Experience * Previous experience working in a revenues, billing, or local government finance environment. * Knowledge of council tax legislation and the ability to apply it accurately. * Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to handle sensitive conversations. * Ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines in a remote working environment. * Proficient IT skills, particularly in revenues systems and Microsoft Office applications
