Head of Data & Insights up to £70,000 Altrincham Are you a data-driven leader who thrives on turning complex information into actionable commercial insight? Our client – an ambitious, customer-focused business undergoing rapid growth – is looking for a Head of Data & Insights to build and scale their data capability. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll combine technical expertise with commercial acumen to drive smarter decision-making across marketing, customer experience, digital, finance, and commercial teams. Role & Responsibilities: Leading the development of data strategy, reporting frameworks, and insight tools that empower teams to make informed, data-led decisions. Designing and optimising SQL queries and working closely with technical teams to transform raw data into accessible and meaningful outputs. Building dashboards, reports, and data visualisations that translate numbers into stories and opportunities. Driving a test-and-learn culture – from campaign performance tracking to customer lifecycle analysis – ensuring the business understands what's working and where to optimise. Acting as the bridge between technical specialists and commercial leaders, making sure data is both reliable and relevant. Partnering with finance on forecasting, planning, and performance measurement, ensuring consistency and accuracy of core business metrics. Championing a culture of data fluency across the organisation by coaching teams and promoting self-service reporting. Skills & Experience: Strong SQL expertise, ideally within Microsoft SQL Server, with the ability to write, optimise, and manage complex queries. Advanced Excel skills and proven experience with BI/visualisation tools. Commercially astute with a strong understanding of how data drives business outcomes. Experience within telecoms, broadband, or subscription-based sectors would be highly beneficial. Ability to deliver insight that informs strategic decisions while rolling up your sleeves to solve technical problems. A confident communicator who can translate technical analysis into clear business narratives. This role is all about shaping the way an organisation uses data to grow. You'll have the autonomy to design systems, processes, and insights that directly influence commercial success, while building a culture where data is integral to decision-making.
