JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: ICT Technician 1
REPORTS TO: School Principal through designated line manager
JOB PURPOSE
To assist the line manager in developing ICT within the school and ensure all computer systems and peripheral devices are maintained properly to meet the school's needs.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the line manager, the post holder will be responsible for the following in accordance with regulations:
Provision and Maintenance of ICT Facilities and Resources
* Maintain school-owned microcomputers and peripherals.
* Coordinate repairs for ICT equipment.
* Coordinate with authorized repair agencies.
* Assist in installing ICT hardware and ensuring operation.
* Perform routine software operations.
* Back up software for security.
* Assist with software installation on school networks and standalone systems.
* Make minor software alterations where appropriate.
* Coordinate with the managed service provider for Classroom 2000 system maintenance.
Administration
* Operate manual and computerized information systems for administrative tasks.
* Maintain inventory and records of resources.
* Assist in ordering, receiving, checking, storing, and distributing resources.
Other Duties
* Perform other duties as assigned within the post level.

SECTION 1 - ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Qualifications
Five GCSEs (A*-C) including English, Math, and a subject-specific qualification or higher.
Experience
At least one year in an ICT-related role.
Knowledge
* Requirements of an ICT Technician 1
* Health and safety regulations
* Administrative processes and records

Measured during interview:
* Planning and organizational skills under pressure
* Teamwork skills
* Interpersonal and communication skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Values orientation based on school ethos, assessed during interview.
